A note from dr. wendy

When I was 19, I was hit by a car on my bicycle, thrown 30 feet and knocked out. I saw chiropractor for the concussion and my shoulder injury, but it was the low back adjustment that really ignited my passion to be a chiropractor. I remember getting off the table and feeling my legs in a way that I couldn’t remember feeling them in the past. It was like the power had been turned on in my legs.

I was fascinated with the human body from a very young age. We had an old Webster’s dictionary and within it was a section on the human body that had overlay transparent pictures. I was in awe and I looked at it regularly as a kid. My love of science led me into the premed program at university, but I didn’t really want to be a medical doctor. Compartmentalizing the body just did not align with what I thought health was. I was interested In Chiropractic as it looked at the body as self healing and self regulating. All under the control of the nervous system guided by Universal Intelligence.

I met my husband and partner. Dr Scott , at chiropractic college in Iowa.

When we started practice, we were definitely not the epitome of health. We were both overweight and out of shape. I remember looking at a Christmas family picture and saying who are those people?

To promote health, we had to exemplify health. So we took what we learned in school and added to it with seminars. We continue learning about how you can improve your health and vitality, even as you age.

I am still completely fascinated with the human body. It is magical and wondrous how two undifferentiated cells, the sperm and egg, come together to form a whole human body with a nervous system, organs, and tissues.

Your body has all of the intelligence in it to be healthy, well, and vital. Your default program is not illness and disease, it is health and vitality. You are self healing and self regulating.

Being healthy and doing things to move your body towards health and away from illness and disease is not rocket science. I think that most people know that eating better, exercising and controlling their stress will help them. Shift in Health is about simple things that you can do, and when done consistently, shift your body away from Illness and disease and towards its default program of health and vitality.

You deserve to feel great and have an abundance of energy, whether you are 20 years old or 90 years old. Remember, it is never too late to make a Shift in Health.
